Will Adderley was born circa 1972 in Birmingham and later relocated to Leicester as a child. His parents, Bill and Jean Adderley, founded Dunelm Group plc. Adderley grew up in Coalville, Leicestershire, and later pursued a degree in Industrial Economics at Nottingham University.

Will Adderley joined Dunelm full-time in 1993 and became CEO in 1996, succeeding his father. He oversaw Dunelm's expansion, including its successful IPO on the London Stock Exchange in 2006.
