Rise to Success
Wang Linpeng's career was significantly tied to the home furnishings industry. He served as the Chairman and CEO of Easyhome New Retail Group, which he helped transform into a leading home furnishings retailer in China. In 1998, Wang was sent to Beijing by the state-owned firm he worked for to rebuild and lead Easyhome after its sole mall was destroyed by fire. Under his leadership, the company grew exponentially and by 2015 it had become a nationwide chain with annual revenue of over CNY10 billion (USD1.4 billion). Wang was known as the "godfather of home furnishing retail" in China. He was also the former richest man in Hubei province. In 2015, Wang became Easyhome's actual controller by buying stock from a number of major individual shareholders.

Wang Linpeng focused on expanding Easyhome. In 2018, Easyhome operated or franchised some 400 home furnishing and building supply superstores in China. Easyhome received investment from Alibaba in 2018. Wang was also focused on international expansion.
