Thomas Pritzker was born on June 6, 1950, to Jay Pritzker and Marian Friend, belonging to the wealthy Pritzker family. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Claremont McKenna College, followed by a Juris Doctor (JD) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Chicago.
Rise to Success
Pritzker's career is largely defined by his leadership roles within the Pritzker family's diverse business interests. He is the Executive Chairman of Hyatt Hotels Corporation, a position he took over following his father's acquisition of the first Hyatt House motel in 1957. He also founded and chairs North America Western Asia Holdings LLC (NAWAH), an investment and advisory firm focused on opportunities in Iraq. Pritzker played a role in the sale of Marmon, a manufacturing firm, to Berkshire Hathaway in 2008.
