Early Life
Sebastian Tomasz Kulczyk was born on November 16, 1980, in Poznań, Poland. He is the son of Jan Kulczyk, who was once the richest man in Poland, and Grażyna Kulczyk. He graduated from Karol Marcinkowski High School No. 1 in Poznań. He furthered his education at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, where he studied management and marketing. Kulczyk also pursued studies at the London School of Economics.
Rise to Success
At the age of 19, Kulczyk started his entrepreneurial journey with a network of internet cafes called e24.pl, but the venture was unsuccessful. He later founded GoldenSubmarine, an interactive marketing agency. From 2009 to 2010, he worked at the Lazard investment bank in London and in the digital media unit of Sony BMG in New York. In December 2013, Sebastian Kulczyk became the President of Kulczyk Investments, succeeding Dariusz Mioduski.
Key Business Strategies
Kulczyk is the owner of Kulczyk Investments, an international investment house with a focus on building the value of companies with global potential using its own capital and skills. He founded Manta Ray VC, a venture capital fund supporting tech entrepreneurs. He initiated the InCredibles program to promote startups in Poland. He is also involved in a global social organization called the Pho3nix Foundation, which supports young people in sports.
