Robert E. Rich Jr., also known as Bob Rich, was born on January 25, 1941, in Buffalo, New York. He is the son of Robert E. Rich Sr., the founder of Rich Products Corporation. He graduated from Williams College with a bachelor's degree in 1963 and earned an MBA with honors from the Simon Business School of the University of Rochester in 1969.

Rich joined the family business in 1964, starting as president of Rich Products of Canada, Ltd. He became vice president of sales and marketing before becoming the President of Rich Products in 1978. He was named Chairman in 2006 and Senior Chairman in 2022. Under his leadership, Rich Products has expanded to generate over $5.8 billion in annual revenue.
