Early Life
Rajinder Gupta was born in Punjab, India, in 1959, and his early life was marked by financial hardships. He was forced to leave school at the age of 14, during his 9th grade. Despite this, his entrepreneurial spirit led him to take on menial jobs, including making candles and cement pipes for a meager wage, which laid the groundwork for his future success.
Rise to Success
In 1985, Gupta established Abhishek Industries, a fertilizer factory, which later became the Trident Group. He diversified into various sectors, demonstrating remarkable business acumen. A turning point came in 1991 with the establishment of a textile mill. Under his strategic leadership, the Trident Group grew significantly, becoming a major player in the textile, paper, and chemical industries. Gupta's vision and management skills have helped the company grow at the rate of over 30% annually. He has also completed the Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School.
