Prasanna Sankar (Prasanna Sankaranarayanan) was born and raised in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He pursued his early education in Chennai before attending the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Tiruchirappalli, where he earned a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science. He met his future wife, Dhivya Sashidhar, at NIT Trichy.
Rise to Success
Sankar's professional journey began with engineering roles at Google and Microsoft. He then co-founded LikeALittle, a campus social network. His significant breakthrough came in 2016 when he co-founded Rippling with Parker Conrad. Rippling is a workforce management platform that integrates HR, IT, and finance operations, contributing significantly to Sankar's wealth. Private investors valued the company at $16.8 billion in May 2025. Sankar owns an estimated 9% of Rippling.
