Early Life
Pamela Diane Mars-Wright, born in 1960, is a fourth-generation member of the Mars family. Her father was Forrest Mars Jr., who oversaw the international expansion of Mars, Incorporated. She grew up with three sisters. Pamela attended the elite Potomac School and Foxcroft School before graduating from Vassar College in 1982.
Rise to Success
Pamela began her career in advertising as an account executive at Ted Bates Advertising. In 1986, she joined Mars, Incorporated as an operations supervisor. She advanced through various roles, including plant director at Kal Kan Foods, manufacturing director at Mars Australia, and vice president of manufacturing for Mars Petcare. She served as chair of the Mars board of directors for four years and held executive positions for 35 years until retiring in 2021.

During her tenure, Pamela played a key role in the company's growth, including major acquisitions in the pet care sector, such as VCA Animal Hospitals in 2017 and AniCura and Linnaeus in 2018. She focused on operations, supply chain management, and integrations in veterinary health services. She emphasized sustainability and corporate responsibility during her time as chairman.
