Thomas Dan Friedkin was born on February 27, 1965, in San Diego, California. He is the son of Thomas H. Friedkin, the founder of Gulf States Toyota Distributors, and the grandson of Kenny Friedkin, who founded Pacific Southwest Airlines. Friedkin earned a Bachelor's degree from Georgetown University and a Master of Business Administration from Rice University.
Rise to Success
Dan Friedkin took over leadership of the Friedkin companies in 1995. Under his leadership, Gulf States Toyota (GST) has grown significantly. The company distributes Toyota vehicles across Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Oklahoma. In 2023, Gulf States Toyota's sales reached $11 billion. Friedkin also serves as the Chairman of Auberge Resorts, a luxury hospitality management firm. In 2020, he acquired the Italian football club AS Roma, and in December 2024, he completed the acquisition of Everton F.C.. Friedkin's involvement extends into the film industry, where his production company produced the film "Killers of the Flower Moon".
