Oliver Samwer

Early Life

Oliver Samwer was born in Cologne, Germany, in 1972. He showed an early entrepreneurial spirit and pursued higher education, earning an MBA from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. During his studies, he was a Deutsche Studienstiftung fellow.

Rise to Success

Samwer's career began with his initial foray into the internet business world with the creation of Alando, an online marketplace. Alando was sold to eBay for $43 million just 100 days after its launch. In 2000, along with his brothers, he founded Jamba!, a mobile content provider. In 2007, Oliver, together with his brothers Marc and Alexander, founded Rocket Internet, a company focused on replicating successful internet business models globally.
