In 1979, at the age of 25, Dentressangle founded his own transport company, ND European Transport Ltd, in London. The company quickly expanded, driven by growing demand for transport services and Dentressangle's ability to anticipate market needs. Over the years, the company, which became Norbert Dentressangle SA, evolved into a major European player in freight forwarding and logistics, with strategic acquisitions further fueling its growth, including Christian Salvesen (2007) and Jacobson Companies (2014). In 2015, Dentressangle sold his company to XPO Logistics for $3.53 billion.
