Early Life and Education
Matthias Daniel Reinhart was born in August 1960. He studied business administration at the University of St. Gallen (HSG), graduating in 1986 with a lic. oec. HSG degree.
Rise to Success
After graduating, Reinhart worked for five years at McKinsey & Company in Zurich and Chicago. In 1993, he co-founded VZ VermögensZentrum AG (later VZ Holding Ltd.) with Max Bolanz. The company's focus was to bring transparency to the financial market, offering fee-based advisory services. He served as CEO until the end of 2022 and has been Chairman of the Board since 2023.
Key Business Strategies
VZ Holding's key proposition has been to bring transparency to the financial market. The firm does not broker financial products; instead, customers pay a fee for advisory and portfolio-management services. Under Reinhart's leadership, the group expanded across Switzerland and into Germany and the UK, scaling fee-based advisory and asset-management services. Reinhart is also a member of the advisory board of NZZ (Neue Zürcher Zeitung), a Swiss, German-language daily newspaper, and sits on the founding board of the Swiss Epilepsy Foundation.
Philanthropy
While specific amounts are not readily available, Reinhart is involved in philanthropic activities through his board memberships at various foundations, including the Swiss Epilepsy Foundation.
