Early Life
Lynda Rae Harris was born in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1943, and was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her father worked as a film distributor. She briefly attended Santa Monica College before founding an advertising agency at the age of 19.
Rise to Success
Resnick's career took off when she started her advertising agency, Lynda Limited, at 19. In 1972, she married Stewart Resnick, and together they built a business empire. Their ventures began with the acquisition of Teleflora in 1979, where Lynda's marketing prowess shone through innovative campaigns. This success laid the foundation for what would become The Wonderful Company, a conglomerate encompassing brands such as POM Wonderful, FIJI Water, Wonderful Pistachios, and Wonderful Halos.

Lynda Resnick is known for her innovative marketing strategies. She earned her nickname, “the POM Queen,” after making pomegranates and POM Wonderful—the antioxidant-rich pomegranate juice—a national sensation. She also created advertising campaigns and groundbreaking marketing strategies, such as “Get Crackin'” for Wonderful Pistachios and Teleflora's “Flowers in a Gift,” which won a Gold Effie Award.
Philanthropy
Throughout her career, as her commercial success has grown, so has her dedication to philanthropy. Through their foundation and The Wonderful Company, she and Stewart have invested more than $2.5 billion in education, health and wellness, community development, and sustainability initiatives, focused on the communities where its employees live and work. The Resnicks have also donated to Caltech, University of California, Davis, and Technion, the Institute of Technology in Israel.
