Early Life

Luo Liguo was born in March 1956, in Cixi, Zhejiang, China. He grew up in a humble background and started learning how to make straw hats as a child. This early experience laid the foundation for his future entrepreneurial endeavors.

Rise to Success

After graduating from university, Luo borrowed 20,000 yuan to found the Cixi Shenyi Handicraft Factory, which focused on the straw hat business. In the 1990s, he established several companies, including Cixi Tianyi Investment, Hangzhou Jimei Real Estate, and Xinxin Real Estate. In the late 1990s, Luo began investing in the production of silicon materials across various locations, including Xinjiang, Shihezi, and Heihe. His strategic move into silicon production has been a key factor in his wealth.

Key Business Strategies

Luo is the chairman of Hoshine Silicon Industry, a major supplier of silicon metals, which are crucial in electronics, photovoltaic, and chemical industries. Hoshine went public on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2017. Luo's leadership has been instrumental in Hoshine's growth and success. His daughter, Luo Yi, is the vice chairman and his son, Luo Yedong, has been CEO since 2021.

Philanthropy

Luo has invested significantly in philanthropy, particularly in education and poverty alleviation. He has funded schools, scholarships, and infrastructure projects in underdeveloped areas.
