Luc Tack

Early Life

Luc Tack was born in Waregem, Belgium, in 1961. At the age of 18, Tack sought emancipation from his parents, allowing him to legally start his first business.

Rise to Success

Tack began his career importing wood products from the United States. He built a diverse network of companies, including Oostrowood (a manufacturer of wooden floors), Ter Molst (a manufacturer of interior fabrics), and Oostrotex (a yarn producer). In 2005, he entered Picanol, a weaving machine manufacturer. By 2009, Tack became the majority shareholder of Picanol. He was appointed CEO of Tessenderlo Group in December 2013. In 2015, Tack was named Manager of the Year by the magazine Trends. In 2023, Tessenderlo acquired Picanol Group.
