Laurie M. Tisch was born on February 19, 1951, in New York City, to Preston Robert "Bob" Tisch and Joan Hyman Tisch. She grew up in New York City with her brothers, Steve and Jonathan, within the affluent Tisch family. Her father co-founded Loews Corporation with his brother Laurence Tisch in 1946.
