Jonas Dhaenens was born in Ghent, Belgium, in 1982. From a young age, Dhaenens displayed an entrepreneurial spirit, drawing up company structures at the age of eleven. He founded Combell at the age of 16, driven by a passion to make the internet more accessible to small businesses.
Rise to Success
Starting Combell from his bedroom in 1999, Dhaenens bootstrapped the company, leading it to become a market leader in Belgium. His strategy focused on organic growth and strategic acquisitions. Over the years, he orchestrated numerous mergers and acquisitions, with over 150 M&A transactions across Europe. In 2015, Waterland Private Equity invested in Combell, accelerating its growth. Combell later merged with TransIP and Register Group to form team.blue, a leading digital enabler in Europe. Team.blue, under his leadership, has grown to serve over 3.3 million customers across 22 European countries. In 2022, Dhaenens transitioned to the role of President of team.blue.
