Early Life and Education
John Albert Overdeck was born in 1969. He demonstrated exceptional aptitude in mathematics from a young age, winning a silver medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad in 1986 while in high school. Overdeck pursued higher education at Stanford University, earning a Bachelor of Science in mathematics (with distinction) and a Master of Science in statistics.

In 2001, Overdeck, along with David Siegel and Mark Pickard, co-founded Two Sigma Investments in New York City.
