Early Life
David Alan Siegel was born in Chicago, Illinois, on May 3, 1935. He grew up in Florida. He graduated from Miami Senior High School in 1953. He studied marketing and management at the University of Miami but dropped out. His parents were Sid and Sadelle Siegel.
Rise to Success
Siegel's career began in real estate, and he later entered the timeshare industry, founding Westgate Resorts in 1982. Under his leadership, Westgate grew into a major player in the timeshare market, with numerous resorts across the United States. He founded Westgate Resorts in 1982 with a single property, and it grew into a large empire.

Siegel's success was built on strategic acquisitions and aggressive marketing, making Westgate Resorts the largest privately-held timeshare company in the world. Philanthropy
Following the death of his daughter Victoria from an accidental drug overdose in 2015, Siegel and his wife, Jackie, established the Victoria's Voice Foundation. The foundation focuses on raising awareness about opioid abuse and supporting prevention efforts.
