Early Life and Education
Ishay Davidi was born in Ramat Hasharon, near Tel Aviv, Israel, on February 3, 1962. Before his business career, he served as an officer in the Israeli commando unit, Sayeret Matcal. Davidi pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial and Management Engineering from Tel Aviv University, graduating with honors, and later obtained an MBA from Bar Ilan University.
Rise to Success
Davidi's professional journey is marked by his founding and leadership of FIMI Opportunity Funds in 1996. Prior to establishing FIMI, he was the CEO of Tikvah Fund. FIMI quickly grew to become the largest private equity firm in Israel. Under Davidi’s leadership, FIMI has completed over 108 investments and 76 exits, generating over $9 billion in transaction value. The firm specializes in acquiring and scaling mature Israeli and Israel-related companies across various sectors, including automotive, electronics, aviation, energy, and logistics. FIMI has raised seven private equity funds with capital commitments exceeding $4.3 billion. FIMI is also the largest private employer in Israel.
