Early Life
Hiroshi Ishibashi was born in Japan in 1946. His early life was shaped by his family's involvement in the tire industry, as his grandfather founded Bridgestone Corporation in 1931. He studied in the US from 1964 to 1971, attending Claremont Men's College and the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles.
Rise to Success
After completing his education, Ishibashi returned to Japan and began working with Bridgestone. He served as chief industrial designer, leading the corporate identity program during the 1980s. His career at Bridgestone included serving as Statutory Auditor from 1994 to 2012.
Key Business Strategies
While not holding an executive position, Ishibashi owns a valuable stake in Bridgestone. He is also President of Nagasaka Corporation, which manages Museum Tower Kyobashi in Tokyo.
