Fredrik Lundberg was born on August 5, 1951, in Norrköping, Sweden. He is the son of Lars Erik Lundberg, who founded the construction company L E Lundbergföretagen in 1944. He also holds a degree in engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology.

Fredrik Lundberg took over the management of L E Lundbergföretagen in 1981, following in his father's footsteps.
