Early Life
Brian Lucas Roberts was born on June 28, 1959, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the son of Ralph J. Roberts, the founder of Comcast Corporation, and Suzanne (née Fleisher). Brian attended Germantown Academy and later graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree from the Wharton School in 1981.
Rise to Success
Roberts's career began at Comcast immediately after his graduation. He held various positions before being named President of the company in 1990 at the young age of 31. Under his leadership, Comcast experienced exponential growth. One of Roberts's most notable achievements was the acquisition of AT&T Broadband in 2000, which made Comcast the largest cable operator globally. He also led the acquisition of NBCUniversal in 2009, expanding Comcast's media portfolio. Roberts became CEO in 2002 and subsequently became Chairman of the Board in 2004.
