Early Life and Education
Yinon Costica was born in Tel Aviv, Israel. His mother is from Algeria and his father is of Syrian descent. His paternal grandfather immigrated to Israel from Damascus and was one of the founding members of the Mista'arvim unit of the Palmach. Costica studied Physics, Mathematics, and Computer Science for his Bachelor's degree from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He later earned a Master's in Computer Networking from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, including an exchange program at the National University of Singapore.
Rise to Success
Costica's career began in the elite 8200 intelligence unit of the Israeli Defense Force, where he led a cyber division. After serving in the IDF, he co-founded Adallom, a cloud access security broker, which was acquired by Microsoft in 2015 for $320 million. At Microsoft, Costica led product for the Cloud Security Group, which generated $1.5 billion in revenue. In 2020, he co-founded Wiz, a cloud security startup, along with Assaf Rappaport, Ami Luttwak, and Roy Reznik. Wiz quickly became a leader in the cloud security market. In March 2025, Google acquired Wiz for $32 billion.
