Stanley Tang

Early Life

Stanley Wei Rui Tang was born in Japan in 1992 and grew up in Hong Kong. He attended King George V School. Tang showed an interest in computers from a young age and explored programming and digital creation well before many of his peers.

Rise to Success

Tang co-founded DoorDash in 2013 with Tony Xu, Andy Fang, and Evan Moore. The company started as PaloAltoDelivery.com, aiming to solve delivery problems for local restaurants. The team handled deliveries themselves initially. DoorDash secured seed funding from Y Combinator in the summer of 2013.
