Rolly van Rappard

Early Life

Louis Rodolph Jules Ridder van Rappard, known as Rolly van Rappard, was born in Curaçao, and is of Dutch nationality. He comes from a noble family. He holds an MA degree in Economics from Columbia University and an LLM from the University of Utrecht, Netherlands.

Rise to Success

Van Rappard began his career in corporate finance, working for Citicorp in London and Amsterdam. He joined Citicorp Venture Capital London in 1989. In 1993, he co-founded CVC Capital Partners, after acquiring Citicorp Venture Capital London. Under his leadership, CVC expanded significantly, becoming a leading private equity firm. The company went public on the Amsterdam stock exchange in April 2024.

CVC Capital Partners focuses on private equity investments. CVC's investments include Petco, Swiss watchmaker Breitling and Spanish soccer league La Liga.
