His background in finance and strategic planning led to his roles as Vice President of Business Planning, CFO, and effectively, chief operating officer. In 2005, Saville was appointed President and CEO of NVR, a position he held for nearly 17 years.

Under Saville's leadership, NVR has grown to become one of the largest homebuilding companies in the United States. His tenure has been marked by a focus on disciplined, return-driven strategies, and NVR was the only public homebuilder to remain profitable during the 2006–2011 housing downturn.
