Noam Gottesman was born in May 1961, in Israel, to a Jewish family. His father was an art collector and president of the Israel Museum, which influenced Gottesman's interest in art and philanthropy. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University in 1986.
Rise to Success
Gottesman began his career at Goldman Sachs in London in the late 1980s, rising to Executive Director managing global equity portfolios. GLG Partners was sold to the Man Group in 2010 for $1.6 billion. Gottesman then founded TOMS Capital LLC in 2012 and co-founded Nomad Foods in 2014.
Key Business Strategies
Gottesman's key strategies involved a strong start in the finance industry with Goldman Sachs, which provided a foundation for his hedge fund management. Co-founding GLG Partners and expanding its assets was a pivotal move. He focused on long/short equity strategies, and expanded through acquisitions and investments in high-profile ventures, like Eleven Madison Park.
