Early Life
Kevin Marchetti was born in 1978. He graduated cum laude from Duke University with a major in Economics and a minor in History. During his time at Duke, Marchetti was also the head manager for the Duke Men's basketball team under Coach Mike Krzyzewski.
Rise to Success
Marchetti began his career in the investment banking group of Morgan Stanley in San Francisco. He then worked with Ron Burkle's Yucaipa Companies before co-founding Bay Grove in 2007. Bay Grove is a principal investment firm. In 2008, he co-founded Lineage Logistics with Adam Forste, which grew to become the largest temperature-controlled warehousing and logistics company globally. Lineage went public in 2024 with a nearly $5 billion IPO.
Key Business Strategies
Marchetti, through Bay Grove, spearheaded a strategy of acquiring and consolidating cold-storage facilities, transforming a fragmented market into a global infrastructure business. Lineage now operates over 475 warehouses in 18 countries. Lineage is known for its focus on innovation and technology, and is the fifth-largest adopter of solar panels in the U.S.. The company also signed the Climate Pledge for zero net carbon emissions by 2040.
Philanthropy
Kevin Marchetti serves on the board of the San Francisco Zoological Society. He is also on the board of Nevada Dental Benefits and the Fisher Center's Real Estate Policy Advisory Board at UC Berkeley.
