Early Life
Horst Julius Pudwill was born in Germany in 1945. He studied engineering and later earned a Master of Science degree in Engineering from the Technical College in Flensburg. In the 1970s, he moved to Hong Kong to work in the automotive industry as a sales manager for Volkswagen.

In 1985, Pudwill co-founded Techtronic Industries (TTI) with Roy Chi Ping Chung. Initially, TTI focused on manufacturing rechargeable battery packs for hand tools. Pudwill led TTI's initial public offering on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 1990. Over the years, TTI expanded through strategic acquisitions, including Milwaukee Electric Tool, Ryobi, and Hoover.
