Early Life
Euisun Chung was born in Seoul, South Korea, on October 18, 1970. He is the son of Chung Mong-koo, the honorary chairman of Hyundai Motor Group. He graduated from Whimoon High School in Seoul and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Korea University in 1993. He furthered his education with an MBA from the University of San Francisco School of Business in 1997. Before joining Hyundai, he worked at the New York office of Japanese trading house Itochu Corp.
Rise to Success
Chung's career in the automotive industry began in 1994 when he joined Hyundai Mobis, the auto parts affiliate. He held various leadership positions within Hyundai Motor Group.
