Andrew W. Houston was born in Acton, Massachusetts, on March 4, 1983. From a young age, Houston displayed a keen interest in technology and began coding at the age of five. He attended Acton-Boxborough Regional High School in the 1990s and later pursued higher education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he earned a degree in Computer Science. At MIT, Houston was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity and met Arash Ferdowsi, who would later co-found Dropbox with him. During his time at MIT, Houston also co-founded a SAT prep company, demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit early on.
