Early Life
David Hindawi was born in Baghdad, Iraq, in 1944 to an Iraqi-Jewish family. In 1951, his family moved to Israel. After completing his education, he served in the Israeli Air Force's Operations Research department.
Rise to Success
In 1970, Hindawi immigrated to the United States and earned a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the University of California, Berkeley. His entrepreneurial journey began in 1984 with the founding of Software Ventures, a telecommunications company. He later founded BigFix Inc. in 1997, an IT systems management company acquired by IBM for $400 million in 2010. In 2007, Hindawi co-founded Tanium Inc., a cybersecurity firm, with his son Orion Hindawi. The company's innovative peer-to-peer system for cybersecurity set it apart from competitors.
