Early Life
David Hindawi was born in Baghdad, Iraq, to an Iraqi-Jewish family in 1944. In 1951, his family moved to Israel. After completing his early education, he served in the Israeli Air Force's Operations Research department.
Rise to Success
Hindawi immigrated to the United States in 1970 and earned a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the University of California, Berkeley. In 1984, he founded Software Ventures, a telecommunications company, which he later sold in 1995. In 1997, he founded BigFix Inc, an IT systems management company, which was acquired by IBM for $400 million in 2010. In 2007, Hindawi co-founded the cybersecurity firm Tanium Inc. with his son, Orion Hindawi. Tanium has been valued at $9 billion as of 2024.
