Early Life
Bris Rocher is the grandson of Yves Rocher, the founder of the Groupe Rocher. His father, Didier Rocher, was the head of the company for three years before passing away in 1994. Subsequently, Yves Rocher, the grandfather, took over the presidency and aimed to make Bris his successor. Bris joined the company at age 16, without completing his baccalaureate. Stéphane Bianchi, the Deputy CEO of the group, provided him with administrative training. In 2000, he began studying finance at Arthur Andersen in the United States.
Rise to Success
Bris Rocher returned to the family business in 2002, starting in the Philadelphia subsidiary before becoming Vice-President in 2003. He was appointed CEO in 2006 and then Chairman and CEO in 2009, following his grandfather's death. In 2012, Bris Rocher bought back 19.3% of the company shares from Sanofi to consolidate family ownership.
Key Business Strategies
Under his leadership, the Groupe Rocher has expanded its brand portfolio and significantly changed its geographic footprint. In 2018, he decided to acquire the Arbonne group in the United States. He stepped down as CEO in July 2023, and Jean-David Schwartz took over, while Bris remained as chairman. In 2019, Groupe Rocher became the first international group to adopt the status of a mission-driven company. In May 2024, the company signed an agreement to sell its Flormar brand.
Philanthropy
The Yves Rocher Foundation, created in 1991 by Jacques Rocher, supports various environmental initiatives. The Terre des Femmes prize was first awarded in 2001. The foundation supports the “Plant for Life” program, which had already planted over 125 million trees by 2023.
