Early Life and Education
Bang Si-hyuk was born in Seoul, South Korea, on August 9, 1972. He developed a passion for music at a young age. He attended Kyunggi High School and later graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in aesthetics.
Rise to Success
Bang Si-hyuk's career began in the music industry in 1994 when he won the Yoo Jae-ha Music Contest. He joined JYP Entertainment as a composer, arranger, and producer. Bang founded Big Hit Entertainment in 2005, later rebranded as HYBE Corporation. He signed RM as the first member of BTS, which debuted in 2013 and became a global phenomenon. Bang co-wrote several songs for BTS and was recognized with awards such as the Best Producer Award at the Mnet Asian Music Awards and the Songwriter Award at the Melon Music Awards in 2016. In 2021, HYBE acquired Ithaca Holdings, managing Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.
