Early Life and Education

Andy Mills was born in 1961 and is a U.S. citizen. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Tulane University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Rise to Success

Mills began his career at Medline as a sales representative in 1986. He quickly ascended the ranks, managing Medline's marketing department from 1993 to 1996 and later became president in 1997, a position he held until 2023. During his tenure as president, Medline experienced substantial growth. Mills also served as the Chief Executive Officer and General Partner of Council Ring Capital, LLC, since 2021.

Key Business Strategies

Under Mills's leadership, Medline focused on providing essential medical supplies, including masks, sanitizers, and surgical gowns, to hospitals and medical facilities. The company's strategy involved expanding its product line to around 550,000 products and adapting quickly to meet market demands. The family-owned business responded to the COVID-19 pandemic by increasing production of essential items, including bleach products and disinfecting wipes.

Philanthropy

Andy Mills and his wife, Nancy, founded the Vivo Foundation in 2021. The foundation is focused on education equity in the Chicago area, making significant grants to schools and advocacy groups. They donated $200 million to launch the foundation.
