Andrei Yuryevich Molchanov was born on September 24, 1971, in Leningrad, Russia. He graduated from St. Petersburg State University with a degree in economics in 1993. He furthered his education, earning a Master's degree from the Russian Academy of Public Administration and a doctorate in Economic Sciences from St. Petersburg State University.
Rise to Success
Molchanov's entrepreneurial journey began in 1993 when he founded Open Joint Stock Company LSR Group. Under his leadership, LSR Group grew into a leading real estate development and construction materials company in Russia. He took the company public in 2007. Molchanov also served in public service, including as an assistant to the Russian Federation Minister of Health and Social Development and as a representative of the Leningrad Oblast in the Federation Council from 2008 to 2013.
