Early Life
Ali Ghodsi was born in Iran in December 1978. Due to political instability, his family relocated to Sweden when he was young. Growing up in Sweden, he developed a strong interest in computers and programming, which later influenced his career path. He pursued higher education at Mid Sweden University, earning a Master's degree in Computer Engineering and an MBA in Logistics and Marketing. He then went on to obtain a PhD in Computer Science from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, specializing in distributed systems.

Ghodsi's career started in academia as an assistant professor at KTH. He later joined UC Berkeley as a visiting scholar. During this time, he co-founded Peerialism AB, a company focused on peer-to-peer data transfer. A pivotal moment in his career came in 2013 when he co-founded Databricks.
