Alexander Mikhalskiy was born in January 1959. He holds a Master of Science in Engineering from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), providing a strong analytical foundation that he later applied to the retail sector.

Rise to Success

In the early 1990s, Mikhalskiy and his partners began with a distribution business supplying French consumer goods to the Russian market. They later became the exclusive distributor for the German sports retailer Kettler. The first Sportmaster store opened in 1997.

Mikhalskiy is a co-founder of Sportmaster, Russia's largest sports and fashion retailer. He also co-founded Ostin, a Russian fast-fashion retailer.
