Adebayo “Bayo” O. Ogunlesi was born in Lagos, Nigeria, on December 20, 1953. His father was the first Nigerian professor of medicine at the University of Ibadan. Ogunlesi attended King's College, Lagos, and later moved to England to study at Oxford University, where he earned a B.A. with honors in philosophy, politics, and economics.
