Early Life and Education
Vladimir Krupchak was born on January 29, 1958. He graduated from the Arkhangelsk State Medical Institute in 1980 with a degree in dentistry. Furthering his education, he attended the School of Business at the University of Portland in the USA in 1994. He later earned a Ph.D. and a Doctor of Economics degree.
Rise to Success
Krupchak's entrepreneurial journey began in the 1990s. He served as the Director General of the commercial manufacturing enterprise OOO Titan from 1990 to 2000. His business acumen led him to become a key figure in the pulp and paper industry. He was Chairman of the Board of Directors of OAO Arkhangelsk PPM, ZAO Sawmill 25 and President of the Titan Group. He also held positions such as General Director of OOO Arkhbum. Krupchak's strategic vision focused on increasing efficiency and implementing environmentally sustainable practices.
Key Business Strategies
Krupchak's wealth stems from his stake in the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill (APPM), Russia's largest producer of cardboard and a major maker of market pulp. He previously controlled the Russian and Ukrainian assets of Austria's Pulp Mill Holding. In the 2000s, he was involved in a corporate battle with Oleg Deripaska for control of APPM. Krupchak’s ventures extended to the Arkhangelsk region where his assets were located. He invested in the Ulyanovsk region for corrugated packaging production.
