Early Life
P.N.C. Menon was born on November 17, 1948, in Palakkad, Kerala, India. His father had a business in Thrissur, where Menon grew up and studied. He lost his father at age 10, and due to financial struggles, he left Sree Kerala Varma College, Thrissur, to start an interior decoration business without completing his education.
Rise to Success
At the age of 26, Menon moved to Oman and developed his interior decoration business. In 1995, he founded Sobha Limited in Bangalore, naming it after his wife. Recognizing the potential in real estate, Menon transformed his business into a major real estate conglomerate. Sobha Limited went public in 2006, with the IPO being oversubscribed a record 126 times. Under his leadership, Sobha has expanded its presence across India and internationally, contributing to iconic structures such as the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Oman. Menon's son, Ravi Menon, took over as Chairman of Sobha Group in 2024.

Philanthropy
Menon established the Sri Kurumba Educational & Charitable Trust in 1994, which supports various social initiatives in Kerala, focusing on education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation. He and his wife joined The Giving Pledge in 2016, committing to donate 50% of their wealth to philanthropic causes. In 2023, he pledged to contribute $25 million to build homes for orphans and needy families in partnership with Al Rahma Association. Menon has also pledged a substantial contribution towards the Sabarmati Riverfront Development in Ahmedabad.
