Early Life
Per Sandberg was born on February 6, 1960, in Levanger Municipality, Nord-Trøndelag county, Norway. His father, Rolf Sandberg, was a self-employed businessman, and his mother, Rannveig Ertsås, worked part-time. He has three siblings: Mona, Harald, and Stig. Sandberg has described his upbringing as challenging, marked by a strict and sometimes manipulative father. After finishing Upper Secondary school, he held various jobs, including bartending and working as a process operator at Norske Skog Skogn from 1982 to 1997, where he became the local trade union representative.
Political Career
Sandberg's political career began in Norway. He was a member of the Norwegian parliament from 1997 to 2017, representing the Sør-Trøndelag constituency from 2005 to 2017. He served as chair of the parliamentary standing committees on Justice, and Transport and Communications. Additionally, he held the position of first deputy leader of the Progress Party from 2006 to 2018.
Minister of Fisheries
Sandberg served as the Norwegian Minister of Fisheries from 2015 to 2018. During his tenure, he faced controversies, including a vacation to Iran that raised security concerns.
Personal Life
Sandberg has been married twice and has three children. He married his first wife, Line Miriam Sandberg, on August 7, 2010, and they have a son. He is currently in a relationship with a woman named Lucky and resides in Thailand, spending time in Vietnam.
