Niels Peter Louis-Hansen was born on October 25, 1947, in Humlebæk, Denmark. He is the son of Aage Louis-Hansen and Johanne Louis-Hansen, who founded Coloplast in 1957. He grew up in a business-oriented family, which influenced his future career. After his father's death in 1966, he became involved in the family business and inherited a large portion of the company's ownership. He holds a degree in business economics.
Rise to Success
Louis-Hansen joined the Coloplast board in the 1970s and later became its deputy chairman. He played a key role in transforming the company from a family-controlled firm into a multinational public corporation. His leadership has been instrumental in Coloplast's growth, expanding its product portfolio and establishing it as a market leader in the medical devices sector. Through his investment vehicle, N.P. Louis-Hansen ApS, he owns approximately 20.7% of Coloplast's shares, making him the company's largest shareholder.
