Early Life
Itzhak Ezratti was born in Israel and immigrated to the United States in 1974. Before his career in real estate, he worked as a bank teller and explored restaurant ownership. These early experiences equipped him with business management, finance, and market dynamics skills, which laid the groundwork for his future success.
Rise to Success
In 1976, Ezratti co-founded GL Homes with his father-in-law, Joseph Hanin. The company started by developing single-family homes in Palm Beach County, Florida, and has since expanded. GL Homes gained momentum after Hurricane Andrew hit south Florida in 1992, which led to the sale of about 1,000 homes in that year and the year following. Under Ezratti's leadership, GL Homes has become one of Florida's largest homebuilders, developing over 70,000 homes. Ezratti stepped down as president in 2016 but remains chairman, with his son, Misha, now leading the company.
