Early Life
Itzhak Ezratti was born in Israel and later immigrated to the United States. He began his career in the restaurant business before transitioning to homebuilding. He moved to Washington, D.C., and worked as a bank teller before moving to Florida.
Rise to Success
In 1976, Itzhak Ezratti co-founded GL Homes with his father-in-law, Joseph Hanin. The company's initial project was a single duplex in Hollywood, Florida. GL Homes gained momentum in 1992 after Hurricane Andrew hit south Florida. The company sold about 1,000 homes during that year and the following one. Ezratti focused on building high-quality homes and creating communities with resort-style amenities.
