Early Life
Frank Leonard VanderSloot was born on August 14, 1948, in Billings, Montana. He grew up in a family of modest means, learning the values of hard work and determination from a young age. His family moved to an 80-acre farm in northern Idaho when he was a year old. Frank took charge of the family farm while his father worked on the railroad, instilling in him a strong work ethic and a deep connection to his Idaho roots. At 16, he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in the Netherlands.

VanderSloot earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from Brigham Young University in 1972. After graduating, he worked at Automatic Data Processing and Cox Communications. In 1985, he founded Melaleuca, Inc., also known as The Wellness Company. Under his leadership as CEO for 37 years, Melaleuca grew into a multinational consumer products company with over $2 billion in annual revenue. Melaleuca has been recognized for its growth and success by various organizations, including Inc. magazine and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
