Early Life
Bradley A. Keywell was born in October 1969, and raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He attended Cranbrook Schools. Keywell's path to entrepreneurship began early; he started his first business, a greeting card company called Key Creations, at the age of 7. During his studies at the University of Michigan, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1991 and a Juris Doctor cum laude in 1993, Keywell began launching several ventures.
Rise to Success
Keywell's career has been marked by a series of successful startups. In 1999, he co-founded Starbelly, an online supply chain management firm. This was followed by Echo Global Logistics in 2005, which went public on NASDAQ in 2009. In 2006, Keywell co-founded MediaBank. In 2007, he co-founded Groupon, which quickly became a globally recognized company. In 2014, Keywell founded Uptake Technologies, an industrial AI software company, which was named Forbes Startup of the Year in 2015 and has grown to over a $2.3 billion valuation. In 2018, he launched the WNDR Museum.

He is the founder and chairman of Chicago Ideas, an innovation and ideas platform with over 30,000 in-person attendees annually and global reach through its online channels. He is the Chairman of Future Founders Foundation, which provides entrepreneurial education to Chicago students. In addition, Keywell is an adjunct professor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
