Early Life
Arthur Levine was born in The Bronx, New York City, and is Jewish. He graduated from Brandeis University in 1970 with a B.A. He later earned a J.D. from Columbia Law School and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management.
Rise to Success
In 1984, Arthur Levine co-founded Levine Leichtman Capital Partners (LLCP) with his wife, Lauren Leichtman. LLCP has managed $14.8 billion of institutional capital across 15 funds since its inception, with $10.2 billion currently under management. Prior to entering private equity, Levine was President of Westwood One, a radio syndicate.

Arthur Levine and his wife, Arlene, have been philanthropists, particularly in the healthcare sector. They made a $5 million commitment to advance facilities at North Shore University Hospital, which will be recognized in the Arlene and Arthur Levine Lobby at the Sandra Atlas Bass Heart Hospital (SABHH). They also endowed the Arlene and Arthur Levine Professor in Clinical Ophthalmology.
