Early Life
Sergey Lomakin was born in Moscow in 1973. He showed an early interest in business and entrepreneurship. Lomakin graduated from the State Mining Institute in Moscow and later received an MBA from the Academy of National Economy.
Rise to Success
Lomakin's career took off in 1998 when he co-founded the Kopeika supermarket chain with Artem Khachatryan and Alexander Samonov. The chain's discount model proved successful during the economic crisis. He served as CEO of Kopeika until 2007. In 2007, Lomakin, along with Artem Khachatryan, founded Sun Investments Partners, which led to investments in discount retail chains like Fix Price, Modis, and CenterShoes.
