Ramesh Juneja was born in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, in 1955, into a middle-class family. After graduating in science, he began his career in 1974 as a medical representative at KeePharma Ltd. His early experiences included traveling extensively and witnessing firsthand the financial strain of healthcare on ordinary people. This early exposure to the challenges of healthcare accessibility shaped his future endeavors.
Rise to Success
In 1975, Juneja joined Lupin Limited and worked there for eight years as a first-line manager, gaining insights into the pharmaceutical industry. He then co-founded Bestochem in 1983. After leaving Bestochem, Juneja, along with his younger brother Rajeev, founded Mankind Pharma in 1995 with an initial investment of ₹50 lakhs. Their vision was to provide affordable, high-quality medicines. Mankind Pharma focused on generics, built a strong sales force, and launched successful brands like Manforce condoms and Prega News. In May 2023, Mankind Pharma went public, marking a significant milestone.
