Ramesh C. Juneja was born on July 28, 1955, in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India, to a middle-class family. After completing his science graduation, he embarked on his career in the pharmaceutical industry in 1974. He began as a Medical Representative at KeePharma Ltd., traveling extensively to meet doctors and promote pharmaceutical products. He later joined Lupin Limited in 1975 and worked there for approximately eight years. During this time, he observed the need for more affordable medicines, which would later inspire his entrepreneurial journey.
Rise to Success
In 1995, Ramesh Juneja, along with his brother Rajeev Juneja, founded Mankind Pharma. The company started with a modest investment of ₹50 lakhs and a small team. Under his leadership, Mankind Pharma grew into a significant player in the Indian pharmaceutical market, becoming the fourth-largest pharmaceutical company in India. Juneja is credited with coining the names of many of the company's popular brands, demonstrating his keen understanding of market dynamics and branding. The company's initial public offering (IPO) in April 2023 marked a major milestone.
